Starting a product business is challenging.
Finding the right manufacturing partner shouldn't add to those challenges.
After 40 years in sheepskin manufacturing, we've seen many small brands grow into successful businesses.
Here's how we support that journey.
The Small Brand Challenge
Common Problems Small Brands Face:
-
High minimum order quantities from most manufacturers
-
Limited customization options
-
Poor communication and slow response times
-
No guidance on product development
-
Difficulty getting samples for testing
We built our business model to address these exact issues.
Our Small Brand Support Approach
1. Flexible Minimum Orders
Standard Industry Practice:Most factories require 1,000+ pieces minimum orders.
This creates cash flow problems for new brands.
Our Solution:
- Starting MOQ: 100 pieces for standard products
- Custom products: 300 pieces minimum
- Sample orders: 10-50 pieces available
- Mixed SKU orders accepted
Why This Works:Small initial orders let you test market demand before major inventory investments.
As you grow, we scale with you.
2. OEM and Customization Support
Small brands often differentiate themselves through design and customer experience. That’s why we offer full OEM support and customization services:
- Custom product dimensions and shapes
- Choice of wool types (long wool, shorn wool, curly wool)
- Custom colors using eco-friendly dyes
- Logo labels, retail-ready packaging, and barcode stickers
We work with you to bring your product vision to life—whether it’s a new cushion collection, a premium rug line, or a baby gift set.
3. In-House Manufacturing = Better Control
We are a direct factory—not a trading company.
That means:
You work directly with the source, with faster communication and fewer layers.
We control every step: tanning, cutting, finishing, sewing, packaging.
Our team ensures consistent quality and lead time management.
For small brands, this means fewer surprises, better support, and the ability to scale up with confidence.
4. Support with Product Development
New to working with sheepskin? Not a problem.
We help you:
Understand which wool type fits your product and market
Recommend materials based on end-use (e.g., baby-safe, REACH-compliant, easy-care)
Test colors, sizes, and finishes with sample orders before full production
Adjust packaging or labeling to match your sales channel (e.g., Amazon FBA, boutique retail)
You don’t need to be an expert in materials—we’ll guide you.
5. Small Doesn’t Mean Less Important
Many factories focus on large orders.
At OTELON, we believe today’s small clients can become tomorrow’s major brands.
We’ve seen it happen.
Some of our 8+ year partners started with trial orders of just a few dozen pieces.
With consistent quality, fast communication, and manufacturing flexibility, we’ve helped them scale to hundreds of thousands of units.
We invest in long-term relationships, not just one-time sales.
6. Logistics and Global Shipping Know-How
Smaller businesses often need extra support on logistics.
We offer:
Help preparing customs documents and compliance certificates
Retail-ready barcode labeling and master carton packaging
Support for direct-to-warehouse shipping (e.g., Amazon FBA, 3PL services)
We’re experienced in global shipping—from North America to Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
7. Ethical and Sustainable Manufacturing
Your customers care about how your products are made—and so do we.
Eco-tanned sheepskin using chrome-free, non-toxic chemicals
Wool sourced from traceable farms in New Zealand and Australia
Wastewater treated in our own 1000-ton/day facility
Certifications: OEKO-TEX®, BSCI, REACH, Intertek, SGS
This gives you a transparent and responsible supply chain to build trust with your customers.
Success Stories: Brands We've Helped Grow
The following two stories are based on real cases. For confidentiality reasons, the names of the partner companies are not disclosed. We still maintain good relationships with these clients. One of our major sellers later adjusted their product range — although the order volume is not as high as before, our cooperation remains steady.
Home Décor Startup → Amazon Top Seller
A few years ago, during a domestic trade fair in China, two young visitors came to our booth.
Dressed like students, they told us they were selling on Amazon — which, at that time, wasn’t yet a dominant force in B2B wholesale.
Honestly, they didn’t look like large buyers.
But we treated them with the same respect and seriousness as any major customer.
We offered clear pricing, shared our product knowledge, and followed up after the show.
Soon after, they placed a small trial order — under 200 pieces.
We helped them choose the right materials, customized the dyeing, added their hangtags and barcodes, and handled all the packaging details.
Even with such a small quantity, we didn’t cut corners — everything just like we would for a larger client.
What none of us expected was how quickly they would grow.
Within a year, their orders steadily increased.
By the second year, their business was acquired by a larger company.
One of the original founders stayed on as a buyer and continued to work with us — now placing much bigger orders.
Later, we found out they had become one of the
top five Amazon sellers in their category.
This isn’t a one-off story.
One of our long-term clients from Denmark also started small — their first order was just a few dozen rugs, pieced together in a shipment.
But they stuck with us, and we worked closely through every step of their growth.
At their peak, they purchased over
ten full containers of sheepskin products in a single year.
These aren’t rare cases.
We see this often — because at OTELON, we
don’t just wait for big customers.
We understand that big brands don’t appear overnight.
Behind every successful product line, there was once a small team — or even just one person — taking a risk on a new idea.
That’s why we’ve always made space for growing brands, even if they’re just starting out.
We
support small and growing businesses with real flexibility:
- Low MOQs so you can test the market
- Customization services even for small orders
- Guidance on materials, packaging, and shipping
- Patience, transparency, and no pressure to over-order
